Several months ago, a friend of mine was planning to open his family business in Jakarta. He asked me to do the website and the food photography as well. The product is Bakpao Boldy, which is quite famous in Malang – East Java and was started in 1950 on Boldy street (now Jl. Mangun Sarkoro). They currently have several branches in Malang, Surabaya, and now they’re in Jakarta.
Bakpao Boldy comes in several kinds of fillings: minced pork, minced chicken, ayam kecap, babi kecap, kacang hijau, tausa and kacang tanah. Among those fillings, my favorite is minced pork. The meat is tasty, and the dough has a smooth and fluffy texture. They’re best eaten warm for breakfast with several cups of good tea. So if you want to try it, head over to the Pluit area.
